Mason Jars, candles and flowers

My best friend in the entire world, who just also happens to be my maid of honor (crazy, right?), sent me a couple ripped pages from Martha Stewart with cool inspirations for mason jars. Now there is a part of me that feels like mason jars are getting a little played out. But I'm holding stronger to the fact that I like them, mostly because I think they remind me of the south. And I need to hold on to things that remind me of my southern roots because, at least for the time being, I've decided to live and start my married life with the man of my dreams on the other side of the country. I don't think I could have picked a farther location. OK, maybe Bellingham, Washington.

Back to the actual pictures now...I like the way that they mixed up the lighting with floral arrangements in the mason jars. It feels lively and fun, yet natural.

I'm not sure if there is something to pull from this for our reception or rehearsal dinner. But I think it would be cool if we could.

Thanks to soon-to-be-momma, Al, for passing this on. Love you!

Finding Solace and Soul on Edisto Island

Work has been keeping me busy these days, but I was refreshed after reading an article about Edisto, written by Beth Webb Hart, that was passed on to me today.

Joy abounds thinking about getting married in such a special place and starting my life with Jonny.

I'm excited to share Edisto with my family and friends that haven't had the chance to visit yet.
